2016. 10. 10..
On 9 October 2016, the starting pistol was fired for the 31st time in the history of Budapest marathons – this year, no less than 28,000 people entered to
complete one of the distances. 2016 also saw a record number of Colas employees – coming from all over Central Europe – take to the start line at Heroes’ Square. The participation of our Hungarian colleagues has become a tradition in the past years. On the initiative of Jean-Etienne Gay, and with the backing of Central European Director, Mr. Thierry Le Roch’, Colas runners from the region’s countries – including Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia – also joined their Hungarian co-workers in 2016. Counting 72 people, the 18 Colas teams – six of them from Hungary – ran a total of 773.5 kilometres in the most beautiful parts of the city, making Colas the company registering the highest attendance in the history of Hungarian marathons. Thank you all for coming, and we hope to meet you next year! We would like to congratulate everyone, especially the
two top-ranking Colas teams, who were invited by the Colas Central European Directorate to take part in the 2017 Vienna City Marathon.
