Everything is ready for the start of earthworks in September on the second phase of the Gyöngyös Western Bypass, where, in addition to archaeological excavations, construction preparations are currently underway. The start of the project was announced in March. The first section of the road, nearly 3 kilometers long, was built a decade and a half ago.
In the investment that is starting now, in addition to its renovation, the 1.5-kilometer extension to the highway No. 3 will also be completed. Part of the development is also the repair of several inland road sections, in a length similar to the new section of the bypass.
Following the handover of the work area on May 2, 2022, the construction of the second phase of the Gyöngyös western bypass began with the tasks of field preparation and ammunition disposal, HE-DO Kft., working as a subcontractor of HE-DO Építő Zrt. The company with its headquarters in Heves county works in a consortium with Colas Út Zrt.
The development will be completed in the investment of NIF Zrt., thanks to which the traffic of Gyöngyös will be less, while the city is also undergoing major road renovations in the center.
Three roundabouts are also being built besides bridges.
The specialists are scheduled to work until October 9, 2023.
A new bridge is being built on the Toka stream and the Gyöngyös stream, and the Nagy-patak bridge on highway no. 3 is being renovated.
At the moment, archaeologists are working in the area of the second phase of the Gyöngyös Western Bypass, and the plans for utility replacements are in the process of being approved. Earthworks are scheduled to begin in September this year.
