In June 2020, the construction of the Zagyva bridge reached a turning point. In M4 Abony – Törökszentmiklós section this is the largest bridge under construction, built by Colas Közlekedésépítő Zrt. The structure of the bridge is an orthotropic track plate, multi-support, single-cell steel cabinet support structure. The height of the steel cabinet varies between 3040-3200mm in the line of the main girders, while the distance between the sloping ridges is 6500mm at the level of the lower belt, while at the level of the track plate it is 8100mm. The total track width in one direction is more than 15.5m. It is built twice on the two tracks in identical parallel offsets. The structure is made of S355 and S235 strength steel.

The total structure weighs 1810 tons, but together with the edging and additional steel structures it is more than 2000 tons.

Production of the steel structure, which began in the fall of 2019, was completed by the end of June this year, while the bridge on the left track at the site was closed at the structure level. The Zagyva became crossable on the left track with “dry feet”. And on the right track, the assembly of the last element awaits, as the last puzzle piece, the complete closure of the bridge. Of course, there is still a lot of work ahead of us to complete the construction of the bridge, but the December 2021 deadline is not threatened by anything. At the moment, a small flood makes our work more difficult, but after it has receded, the construction work on the site can accelerate again.
