Alterra builds passive house

The Hermina Happy Land passive house is constructed by Colas Alterra in Budapest’s District XIV. The 8-storey building, that accommodates 255 flats, will be the largest passive house in Eastern Europe. The building will consist of 3 main parts, and will include garage and 8 floors. Its area is 170 * 35 m. The building has a pier framework, loads are borne by 19 piers per building. The dilated slab foundation is 60 cm thick. The underground garage is below ground water level, therefore the base slab and the external walls are made of watertight concrete.
