In August, Colas Út decommissioned two road construction pavers that over the years had accumulated a high number of hours. The two machines, bought by the company in the early 2000s, were replaced with Vögele S1900-3i and Volvo P7820D models. The deployment of these new pieces of equipment will boost the overall reliability of our fleet, and offer an immediate reduction in repair costs. Both the Vögele and the Volvo machines utilize state-of-the-art technologies to make their operation significantly more cost efficient in comparison with older models. The two pavers are fitted with hydraulically-extendable, high-compaction screeds for installing asphalt pavement sections in widths ranging from 2.5 to 5 meters. In addition, mechanical add-on components can be mounted to increase paving width by up to 7.5 meters.
