M70 motorway extension - Colas Út
M70 motorway extension
The M70 branches off from motorway M7 near Letenye, winding along the Croatian border in the valley of the Mur River to reach the Slovenian border at Tornyiszentmiklós.
The road, which was completed in November 2004, was built in line with full 28-metre-wide motorway standards at the interchanges and the adjoining sections.
However, 10 kilometres of the 21.3-kilometre-long road were established with only 2×1 lanes, and the upgrade of these stretches has become a pressing issue in recent years. In addition to the expansion to 2×2 lanes, the construction of the related engineering structures and the renovation of service facilities also comprise the scope of works assigned to the consortium of Colas Út and Euroaszfalt.
